Wouldn't want to do this in bad weather (don't worry - they close it!) but we had great views and the 360-degree turns made it nice for everyone. Blue-screen pictures were a fun addition!

Fun trip up table mountain on rotating cable car. If you have clear day this is not to be missed. Enjoyed by all.
If you are visiting Cape Town, taking the cableway is unmissable.
I am terrified of heights but felt perfectly safe in the cablecar and loved the rotating platform on ascent/descent.
The view from the top of Table Mountain is almost without parallel in the world - allow at least 2 hours to explore the top and take your time... it...

We went up shortly after arriving late afternoon. Excellent trip up in the cable car despite initial fear. A must for any visit to Called Town. Be aware that it closes in bad weather.

Only do this in very good clear weather as otherwise the mountain top will be under a cloud! Fantastic panoramic views on the cableway and it's lovely at the top too.
Your trip to Cape Town is not complete unless you take this experience. The cable car is unique and very safe. We experienced both sunshine and cloud-type rain. Our group had a small snack at the café on the top. We did not have 'rand', so we used our credit card.
We used the cableway after hiking up the mountain. Table mountain is a must for any new visitor to Cape Town. Hiking up takes ~2 hours and make sure you are relatively fit (I am not). The view throughout is magnificent. Had a nice hot drink in the well equipped restaurant at the top before taking the cableway down. Doing...

Well set out tourist attraction - good and safe cable car, lots of useful and additional info for the walk on the top of the mountain about the history of the mountain and the incredible floral kingdom. Reasonable snack facilities up there... altogether quite a nice trip.
... but I'd still prefer to walk than catch the cable car -...
