Great cardio or is that a heart attack waiting to happen? Only kidding about the heart attack but you better check with you doctor(not kidding). It is busy like following a trail of ants. Parking is terrible but if you do get lucky and find a place there are off trails to take.

Took a hike up this peak on a recent visit to Phoenix. It takes a good hour to reach the peak but the views of greater Phoenix are amazing. The trail needs some maintenance, so expect to skip over rocks and rough steps.

Challenging mountain hike is a real workout and very popular with the locals. I am very glad I took this hike and am very jealous for all those in the Phoenix area that have this free workout so close by. Excellent views from the top and does not take long to go up and down. Is a real stairmaster workout... More

My sone and I Climbed it again. If you haven't done it you really should try it; it is challenging but doable. there was a 4 year old little boy there at the top with his mom so it is doable for most ppl. There are great views from the top you can see most of phoenix from up there.... More

I've Been climbing - hiking- this Mtn for over 40 years! I love it. The name change to 'Piestewa Peak' a few years go- we Natives do not like the name change so much. Great hike and great location near Biltmore and Arcadia area of Phx. Views are better on Camelback Mtn and or Pinnacle Peak (north Scottsdale), but this... More

We made the mistake of starting this hike at 3 pm in 90 degree weather when we were still in east coast winter mode. We made it about half way up and decided we better turn around. The next morning, we arrived around 7 am and climbed to the top. It was a great hike, but essentially you are climbing... More

Be sure to take plenty of water and pace yourself. Don't attempt if too hot for you. On busy days, looks like a bunch of ants acending. Better: hike the trails around the mountain preserve. Fewer ants and great views.

The views from the top are magnificent! The way up is for intermediate hikers. We had to go a couple of times before we could hike all the way up!!!
