This is an "out and back" hike - easy/moderate with good footing most of the time. The last 200 yards are quite steep but well worth the effort. The view is truly outstanding.

This is not a long hike (20-30 minutes at a relaxed pace), nor a difficult one, though there is some elevation gain. At the end of the hike, there is the opportunity to do a little bit of free climbing. If you are reasonably nimble and in decent shape, not difficult. The views are 360 and terrific. No water on...

A choice of trails leading to this vortex with many photo ops--you can hike but again do not forget the aqua-----while here you can opt for a visit to the Palatki Sinagua ruins--a worthwile excursion but be prepared for unpaved roads passable without 4 wheel-drive if the road is dry
Nice hike up to the Vista. On the way up we passed a fellow hiker who agreed to help us with a picture of our group. He then gave all our girls a stone heart- very nice touch. He told us there were dual male/female vortexes up at the Vista. We had to go. Not sure of the effect but...

Boynton Canyon is majestic- spiritual. Bring water and enjoy. The energy from this area is almost mystical. (it was not crowded either) We hiked in spring mid March 2013 and this canyon had a blooming array of Desert wildflowers and cacti. This 2.5 to 3 mile trail into the canyon goes from desert floor to above the Ponderosa Pines and...

Boynton Canyon is one of the mystical hiking trails in Sedona. We hiked in the Spring (mid April) and the Canyon entertained us with an array of blooming cacti and desert wildflowers. The hike is fairly easy and will wind around the Vortex "Kachina Woman". The actual vortex area is the entire formation of Kachina Woman and the second formation...

Supposed vortex right at the beginning. Beautiful red rocks. Hike along Enchantment resort for some time. Saw a male cardinal. As we continued, we climbed just enough in altitude to change from juniper to Ponderosa Pine to fir. The bugs got bad towards the end when the hike really got steep.
Make sure you have your camera charged. The scenery is wonderful. The hiking is not too difficult. You can make it as short or long as you wish. Different shrubs and flowers, as well as the odd wildlife.Bring water, wear a hat and good walking shoes.
Started this hike early and took several hours to enjoy and finish. The hike starts with lots of red rock and wildflowers. Then the trail takes you into a forest area along the bottom of the canyon. Lots of birds and plant life. The trail then starts a climb, then a steep climb scrambling over rock to a overlook of...

We only had time to do the shorter Vista trail. Easy, short hike that takes about 15-20 minutes. Pretty scenic views of the valley at the top.
