This night market is just a short walk from the cruise ship terminal making it a great place to walk out to if you opt not to go on any shore excursions or only go on a short one-half day shore excursion. Friendly vendors and the food variety is vast. Go with a group and share the taste and experience.... More

Friendly Taiwanese vendors serving delicious street food fare. This is the authentic experience with most of the patrons being locals. So much to choose from, best to go in a group and share in the grazing. Not-to-be-missed stalls would be the butter crab, fried sandwich, pot-sticker soup (make sure you have it with the large flat noodles), and the tofu... More

I go to Keelung quite often to visit a friend. According to him, this is the centre of activity for the locals. Being a small town with only two movie theaters, this is one of the places where locals ( and everyone else) congregate when they go out. There are loads of food choices here, food is primarily the main... More

We went to jiufen for almost half a day n took bus - 788 from jiufen to KEELUNG MIAOKOU... Planned our day trip as one stone kill two bird... simply take a train to ruifang train station n take a bus 852 to JIUFEN then come down to keelung miaokou around the evening and this is when the night market... Quite unlike the other night markets in Taiwan I have experienced so far in the short 10-day sojourn, Miaokou doesn't really boast much of merchandise. The main speciality is the food. We had lots of food here. Practically nearly stuffed ourselves till we threw up. The stalls line the area and are very well organized. Many with English or transliteration... More

If you can, combine Keelung with a trip to Jiufen and Jingguashi- mining towns. Very nice country side experience. The night market was fun and the food was delicious- esp the Oyster Omlettes (ou wa jian). I went to the local place that has the best pineapple cake (Li Niang Dian? Not sure, but my driver said that was the... More
