A local wine pourer recommended Sommers because they make good wines at a more affordable price point. They were pouring good wines and had a friendly staff, but the place reaked of cigarettes. Not sure why people would be smoking indoors at a tasting room. Nothing special on the wine list so don't make a trip out there unless you... More

The wine it self was very good, however the insolent Welsh Server left a bitter taste in our mouths. The utter disregard for customers and the constant stream of sarcasm became very old very quick. Our party was more than happy to leave without making any purchases! Plenty of other vinyards

We stopped at this small tasting room after visiting a couple of other Calistoga wineries and were not impressed. The person providing the pours was not very attentive and spent more time talking to another person that was there (a vendor I believe). To bad as some of the wines were OK and we might have bought if we could... More

We stumbled upon Summers through another winery, while searching for a Welsh gentleman whom we had met at a winery in the Stag's Leap area some years ago. That winery told us where to find Jonesey: Summers. Summers is a beautiful, small facility, at the northern end of Calistoga, and on the June day we visited, did not have the... More

We stopped in here on recommendation from another close-by vineyard, specifically to try the Chardono. The wine was decent but the guy from the UK behind the tasting bar pouring our tastes left A LOT to be desired. He was rude, abrasive w/ his "banter", uncaring about the wines or the guests tasting them, gave no info about the wines... More

Great small winery experience. Graham, the guy working, was hilarious and yet very knowledgeable and excited to talk about the wines. Obviously well known for the Charbono but other varietals are strong too. Beautiful view and you can stroll at leisure with a glass. No hurry, no crowds. Nice longer open hours too.... a huge plus!!!!

Our group consist of a party of 13 (6 adults and 7 kids). We stopped at this winery as art of a cycling tour and were quickly invited to taste their wines. While sipping their fabouloys wines, the British chef introduced SUS to the winemaker of Summers winery, Ignacio. Ignacio then took us to the storage facility and proudly explained... More

Off the beaten path up in Calistoga, Summers is worth seeking out. A large bright and cheery tasting room with employees to match. For a modest tasting fee, you can to try some really good wines including Charbono. Charbono is only grown in California and Argentina and is not at all easy to find. They also make a Rose of... A terrific experience from beginning to end. The nice Welsh gentleman who took care of us was friendly, funny, and very knowledgeable about their style of wine an winemaking. The tasting room as a very relaxed feel and we had a great time. We'll be back for sure!
