This was by far the most relaxing, laid back spa I have ever been to. With fair rates, an amazing atmosphere and a very friendly staff I wish all spas were like this one. My mom and I left like we were floating on a cloud.... Thank you for a wonderful day!

I was so stressed out after having my baby and just wanted so desparately to get away. Since my son was an itty bitty newborn, any true vacations was out the question, so my husband took me here to get some nice, quiet relaxation. The staff was great and the surroundings amazing. I will definitely return real soon.

Perfect way to work out the kinks after the Big Sur marathon! Three friends and myself treated ourselves to a massage and the dip pools the day after our race. We agreed our massage therapists knew their art, how to work with endurance athletes and we left feeling much rejuvenated. The cold pools along with the hot really speeded recovery.... More

My husband took me here for the pool experience and a massage as a surprise for my birthday. I enjoyed the pool experience and the deep tissue massage was lovely.

Took my wife here on our anniversary. We spent about 3-4 hours including a message and left feeling completely relaxed and rejuvenated. Things you should know about Refuge are as follows: - The place is very clean and well taken care of. The pools, sauna, locker room, massage rooms all are very clean. - Refuge is located behind the tennis... More

Be daring and dip into the ice cold pools. It's only seconds of torture but totally worth it. I'd definitely get a massage next time and I think it'll definitely be better to get the massage after you do the thermal cycle.

[Huge sigh] I adore this beautiful place so much I almost don't want anyone else to know about it. However, a place this wonderful is nearly impossible to keep quiet about, and it must be complemented with five stars! Aptly named Refuge; this place really is a sanctuary to heal your mind, body and spirit. This Carmel Valley hideaway is... More

This place is a gem. Clean, well maintained facility in a beautiful setting. Do get the massage as it is a jump start into the relaxation mode. I'm looking forward to going back.

What a way to unwind, relax and feel like a million bucks afterward. They ask you not to talk and respect the quietness, once inside you understand why and you're happy about it. To try and say what I liked best about the place would be a problem...steam room, sauna, various hot tubs and cold pluges set amongst waterfalls and... More

Wonderful beautiful setting. Do a massage it's worth it and you get the robe included. Eat before you go so you do not get lightheaded. You will feel amazing. Appreciate the silence rule to help add to the peacefulness of your stay.
