If you are a flower lover or nature lover - you really should make the effort to come to this beautiful place. We brought a picnic and took about 3 hours here to really take it in. We loved the native plants, the rhododendron, succulents, little creeks, trees, and coastal views. What a pretty, pretty place. Really inspiring.

The Botanical Gardens combine native California plants with exotic plants from around the world. Even though the parking lot looked full when we arrived, the grounds seemed quiet and secluded. I was able to shoot lots of pictures without being in anyone's way or feeling that I needed to hurry. It was a lovely way to spend the day. Leaving... More

Simply beautiful ! There is a bench on the ocean trail where you can sit and watch the waves roll in and out. It is so peaceful and with the sun shining down on you it warms you up and cancels out the cool ocean breeze. A definite must see.

Don't miss the gardens. Allow more time than you think you will need. I could have spent much more time there.

We visited the Botanical Gardens May 29th and whether you are a botanical enthusiast or not youwill love this garden. It contains plants native to California as well as those from around the world. In May everything is in full bloom including the glorious rhodedendrums, displaying blooms in in red, pink, yellow and white. As you walk through the garden... More

If you're in the area in may, ya gotta stop! Amazing.... Also hummingbird paradise. Take a seat in the perennial section, or near the heathers and watch the hummingbird show!

Nothing to add to all of the other rave reviews. If you hit the rhododendrons at the right point it will be like swimming in a rhododendrons sea. Handicap accessible, but taxing.

Well worth a visit. My husband and I walked all the way through the gardens to the ocean and back. Bring lunch and some wine for a nice, relaxing day. Bring good walking shoes too.

There are 47 acres of plants, and right now the Rhododendrens are in full bloom. There are many different sections to the garden, each featuring different types of trees, flowers, and several different types of habitat. Lots of birds and deer like this place too. There is a cafe and shop that sells garden related trinkets and books, and a... More

A must-see! Beautiful floral-lined 1/2 mile walk to the sea. They also rent ($5) motorized scooter/wheelchairs for those unable to make the hike!
