We had a nice visit to this historic building in Fort Bragg. If you are interested in learning about the people who settled in this area in the 1850s and the logging industry you will find a lot of information here. The docent was helpful and informative and was very willing to answer all our questions. We enjoyed seeing this... More

Nice place to spend a hour or two. See a lot of photo and other artifacts on the history of Ft. Bragg. No charge, just a donation required.

We spent a pleasant 1/2 hour in the museum looking at old photos and objects. Don't miss the 750 year old acorns in the split piece of timber downstairs. Very friendly and entertaining guide the day we were there. Well worth the suggested $2 per person donation.

Liked the friendly volunteer, and enjoyed being able to go upstairs and look out the windows of this old home. Very nice displays of old Fort Bragg and Mendocino County businesses in photos.

Great museum with lots of logging history. Fascinating. I spent over 2 hours in this old victorian that's been converted to a museum. A must see if in Fort Bragg.

The guest House Museum is located in downtown Fort Bragg. The house was build in the 1850's during the formation of the community. The staff and displays offer a glimpse into the days when large Redwood trees were cut by men using hand tools. There are hundreds of photos and numerous displays that tell an interesting story. While there is... More

The fellow running the welcome desk was very nice, and gave us an overview of the history of the house. There was so much to see, from a display of vintage Brownie cameras to the many, many photographs of the logging culture of the early 20th century. A great introduction to the history of Ft. Bragg.

Lots of history about the Mendocino/Ft. Bragg area. Lumber and logging. How the area was settled and developed. Very interesting photographs. Beautiful old home with exquisite, hand crafted details. Outside the museum is a "slice" from a 1,000 year old redwood tree. It is astonishing.
