Our kids could play for hours looking for hermit crabs in the tidal pools. There are many sea lions to view and some small beach coves here and there. Must see location in the old part of La Jolla. Also go to La Jolla Shores later in the week to surf etc More

La Jolla Cove is a magical place full of nature, fun and friendly people. My family, friends and I love the beauty of the sunsets, the gorgeous scenes, the sea and the variety of animals living in it. You can enjoy God's creation each time you visit La Jolla Cove. More

La Jolla Cove is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. The views in every direction are incredible. The seals were a highlight. I would recommend to anyone taking a trip to San Diego make sure to include time in La Jolla Cove. We went early (6 AM) so parking was a breeze and we were the only... More

Beautiful ocean views, seals on one beach, sea lions on another. Fun people watching: kayakers, swimmers, divers, babies on the beach. What a great stroll to wile away a couple of hours. A short walk takes you to the shops and restaurants. Free parking may be difficult, but not impossible, to find. More

Donated by Ellen Browning Scripps to the children of San Diego in perpetuity. This, and the children's cove a short walk away, make for a relaxing sojourn. Have lunch above the cove at George's (reasonably priced considering the location) to take the BEST photos looking down at the cove. I am a local and often take visiting friends to both... More

This is a beautiful cove that the city of La Jolla was built around. It is possible to find free parking and spend hours enjoying the park, beach, tide pools, and children's pool. The legal fight trying to give the children's pool to the seals is always a source of irritation and much lawyer money. More
