You'll encounter many beautiful headlands that lend themselves to lots of photos. We drove all the way from Mendo to Bodega Bay and highly recommend touring this coastline for the dramatic vistas.

We love Mendocino and drove down Highway One south of the town of Mendocino. This affords a beautiful (although winding) route, with stunning views of the ocean from the bluffs.
We suggest driving along the Coast (Highway 1 ) from Jenner rather than inland from Cloverdale thru Boonville (VERY winding road) .Even in crummy weather, it's breathtaking!
Friendly people (except at our hotel!) and beautiful coastline. Good for a getaway from the city or a change in scenery.
It was windy, but you could see as far as the eye could see! Blue sky meeting blue sea. What could be more peaceful and perfect! We started our coastal trip in Bodega, and visited beaches as far as Ft. Bragg and a bit beyond. In case travelers wonder, glass collecting is no longer allowed.
This is a great spot to do some hiking and beach combing. The ocean views are spectacular. The town of Mendocino is a mixture of fun and funky. There is a nice mix of shops. The botanical gardens near Ft. Bragg were sensational, and we would highly recommend visiting these gardens even if you're not that much into gardening. We...

We really love to visit Fort Bragg and Mendocino. Great rocky beaches, and you can always find a good spot to just relax and watch the ocean.
YES, THE MENDOCINO coast is a beautiful place to enjoy, any time of year, but spring and fall is our favorite, because of the colors and the season change, so green in spring ,and fall colors in the fall. A wonderful place to hike and just relax and enjoy the beauty, A must is the Mendocino gardens.
Wildflowers in bloom around paths meandering through the Headlands, overlooking the dramatic surf surrounding the Mendocino coast, all accessible to walkers.
Mendocino is a small, vibrant town, with a lot of exciting programs and events going on. They have an awsome symphony orchestra! folk, R&B and jazz at Headlands Coffee Shop, the art museum is most interesting, I hope some day to become an artist in residence there, I took a songwriting course with Holly Tannen through the museum, and it...
