Rutherford Hill is a great place to go in Napa for a picnic. It's not nearly as crowded with tourists as the picnic area at V. Sattui and has a much better view. The staff is very friendly here and the wine is decent, with the standout being the Reserve Merlot... delicious!

Spent a nice afternoon at the Winery. We were looking for a winery that was close to downtown Napa (20 mins) that we could do a wine tasting and picnic after. They have picnic tables under the trees. Some with the best view are below the parking lot, and the others are above. You can reserve a table for $35.... More

Wine tasting was very informative and interesting as we took the tour and tasted along the way! Jimmie, our guide, was extremely well informed and gave us quite an education. His information is vast on many areas, and it was a pleasure to be with him and learn so much!

We decided to take the cave tour here because we wanted to do 1 tour on this day of tastings. I would not recommend this tour. It is very informative about how they make their wine, but it is not the best setting to be learning about wine. I felt like I wanted to leave the whole time. There are... More

we visited as part of our bike tour-of all the wineries over 3+ days, they seem to be the least interested in our visit

I loved this visit! We had Hillery as our pourer, and she was fantastic! She gave me more tastes than what was on the menu, and she was a lot of fun to talk to. The chocolate covered blueberries are a MUST! I would absolutely go back again and recommend this to friends. There is also an outdoor picnic area,... More

We were hoping to try some of Rutherford Hill's port wines, because my wife loves dessert wines. However, after a getting stuck in traffic driving up from the Bay Area and then accidentally stopping at Rutherford *Ranch* next door, we managed to get to the tasting room exactly one minute after 5pm. To our astonishment they refused us a tasting,... More

A very nice location with great views. Staff was very friendly. The picnic area is outstanding and the wine in line with expectation.

This is a beautiful site for picnics, with a view that looks out over the vineyards in the valley. There is also an impressive wooden building that houses the small tasting area and gift store, along with much of the winemaking process. However, the tasting experience was a disappointment, with wines that were expensive and not enjoyable. The two kids... More

In the past year the winery cordoned off their best picnic area and charges a $35 fee to use it. But they credit $20 towards a wine purchase or tasting fees. They still have lots of other tables in very nice locations, including in the olive grove if you don't want to pay the money, but it is worth the... More
