A great hands on museum great for kids and adult techies Great staff who were walking around patiently answering questions to both young and old. When in San Jose this is definitely for a stop. The museum is on south market street a beautiful square and park surrounded by beautiful corporate buildings such as Oracle.

I read Dave's review and can't put it better myself. I went there with 2 teenagers and we did indeed spend a very interesting 3 hours plus the Imax. The best part about the museum is that, like most of downtown San Jose, it is really not that busy and with minimal waits, you can get to experience everything. If... More

My first experience of a purpose built IMAX and it did not disappoint. Though it would be nice to have more comfortable chairs my only suggestion would be to get their early and make sure you sit as far back and as central as possible.

The Tech Museum is housed in an impressive modern mango-colored building. And since it's a science center in the heart of Silicon Valley and charges a pretty steep admission fee (unless you're a reciprocal science center member) you're expecting it to be great. Well, it's not quite great, and perhaps isn't better than the science center in your own hometown.... More

A friend and I took our two boys, ages 9 and 11, to the Tech Museum on Memorial Day. Driving to San Jose from San Francisco was well worth it! We were so happy to find that the museum was not too crowded! It was full of engaging hands-on activities, so much so that our boys stayed at many of... More

I used to take my students there every year. I even took classes there. Science is so important and this is the place to motivate students to have a lifelong affair with science. There is so much to choose from. The IMAX is also great. Have fun and learn lots.

We had 5 adults and 3 children, ages 2-11. Everyone found something interesting to do. It was educational and creative. We also enjoyed the IMAX film on butterflies.

The first night out of every Thursday of the month is the coolest experience at this place. They have a night time out where you experience everything but at night, really cool, We had so much fun, you get to enjoy all the interactive activities in a more enjoyable (night time setting)situation. It's mainly for adults only, as there Is... More
