Great place for tour and taste of the era of old padres! Just finished major renovations and is a nice touch of history. One of the more majestic of the California missions.

California has numerous missions but this one is the grand dame of them all. The self-guided tour was laid out very well and there were lots of documents, photos and other historical items that made the tour interesting.

The old mission is one of the main atractions in SB. Here you can learn about the california history and get some good information about the begining with the spanish culture and the development though the "wars" and the american arrival. In this place you have an introdutory video which gives you the all history of The Missions in Califórnia... More

Mission Santa Barbara is called "The Queen of Missions" for good reason. It's a really beautiful restored 1700's Catholic Mission. There's a self guided tour which includes the mission, chapel, the cemetery, the rose gardens and grounds. There's on site parking or you can take the trolley tour which stops briefly at the Mission. There's a good gift shop which... More

It is the oldest church and monastery in the state and it is in very good condition the view from the front of the mission add to the historic feel of the mission.

My poor wife and kids got stuck on a tour at the Santa Barbara Mission for a class field-trip. My wife described the tour as the longest, most miserable tour of her entire life. My 10-year-old daughter simply stated that it was BORING! That being said, DO NOT skip going to the mission. The building is beautiful, the lawns are... More

Went on the Santa Barbara Trolly which includes a stop at this Mission. Loved the historical place, a beautiful large mission. Wonderful rose garden. Wish the bathrooms can be cleaner.

The mission grounds are beautiful. I could spend the entire day walking the cemetery in the back of the mission. The tomb stones read like a who's who of CA. Many of the street in Los Angeles are named after these frontiers of CA history. The mission will accomodate weddings. I was there for such an event. It was just... More
