Lovely walk from park office across bluffs and then along bluffs over the ocean. Definitely a "tennis shoe" hike, meaning not at all difficult, and well maintained. Park office has good postcards, hats etc.

Heading north on Hwy 1, Wilder Ranch SP is about 10 mins past the Natural Bridges SP. There is an honor $10 parking/entrance fee (you put $10 in an envelope and place into a box; fill out a tag to put on your dash). State park employees patrol the parking lot. A clean bathroom (flush toilets) & water fountain @... More

This is a family favorite. Bring a mountain or cross bike and you can ride along the cliff tops looking out towards the sea about 5 miles in "each direction". In any other state, this would be a "national monument".....the sea and the cliffs are kinetic, beautiful and with every visit you can see changes in the sea and the... More

We like historical buildings, but there wasn't much to look at here. Maybe if you bike, hike, or horseback further the park may be better? Maybe if there are active tours it is better? We were disappointed.

I got there really late in the day thanks to some wierd directions from google maps. The directions took me through 25 mph residential areas, and 1 lane dirt roads and evetually to a sign on white posterboard that said, "not an entrance to the state park. googl maps & mapquest are wrong" Don't try to navigate into the park... This park gives you quite a look back in time. Well worth the look. Kids will love it as well. Tip..it does get very windy in this area, go prepared.

See what a real caostal ranch was like a hundred years ago. It all still there in fully restored condition. It is a public park and absolutely authentic. Many adjacent ranches are working farms. don't miss this.

We went to the park when they had a demonstration of the farm. It was EXCELLANT. People were dressed up in the period dress, they explained how the ranch was run. I was particularly interested in the 'Pelter Water Wheel' that was used to generate electricity and how it was used by the blacksmith.

This is a beautiful park. However DO NOT follow Google Maps directions to the entrance. They are wrong, and you'll end up on a very narrow, one lane private road six miles out of your way. Especially bad news if you're in an RV, or pulling a horse trailer , as turning around at the end in the residents driveway... More
