The San Ynez Mission as at the end of the main street of Solvang and easy to walk to and add to your visit. Cost to enter is $5.00. It's a quiet beautiful Mission to explore.

The church itself is beautiful and so is the artwork inside of it. There is also a small museum with an "audio" tour. There is a small fee - $5 per person (kids under 12 are free.) The garden area is very beautiful and peaceful.

This is a "must see" if you want a sense of what the area was like before the ranchers and settlers populated the area. This is a working mission so the grounds have been upgraded and the place does not feel a couple hundred years old. The views are glorious. Grab a cup of coffee and walk the grounds. So relaxing.

Very old, very historic active Parish. Attending Mass there always touches my heart as I walk down the main aisle that is worn from so many footsteps over so many decades! Son in fourth grade. Did his mission report this year and was very enthusiastic about the visit. Informative self guided tour. We went to a Sunday Mass (not catholic) but very gracious and interesting service, especially at Christmastime. Definitely worth a visit.
