Great selection of books, plenty of chairs to sit and read, very peaceful and relaxing bookstore. The children's area downstairs was awesome, with a stage and set for puppet shows and plenty of toys, games, and books to keep the little ones engaged. Coffee from the cafe was decent. We just ducked in here to get out of the snow... More

I always love to find an old bookstore when I visit a new city and I was not disappointed on my recent trip to Denver. I visited the location on 16th Street downtown. The smell of books, creaky old wooden floors, and big chairs to sit in are a draw for many. They have a cafe inside too!

There are 3 Tattered Cover Bookstores in the Denver area. I visited the one at 1628 16th Street at Wynkoop. It really is a great bookstore. Very spacious with armchairs to sit in to read the books and magazines. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and there is great coffee in the cafe. They have numerous book-related events in all... I absolutely love the Tattered Cover. It's in a old building and they have FLOORS of books. The kid section is absolutely wonderful. Their coffee is good too, If you are a book lover do not miss the Tattered Cover. It's down on the end of the 16th street Mall near Union Station.

We discovered this little gem while exploring Denver innercity. Books galore, places to sit and read - or just relax. And good cafe to boot. They sell books which have been on display, at a reduced price - bargain. Also lots of free local magazines & information. Ifmyou're a reader, or just like to browse, be sure tompay them a... More

Have patronized the Tattered Cover Bookstore for years and years. It is consistently the most well run business in Denver. Great book signing events. Just saw Naomi Hirahara talk about her new mystery _Strawberry Yellow_ -- very funny and entertaining evening. I like the Colfax location best for events because of the free parking. But all of the stores have... More

Stuck in Denver for the day because of a canceled flight, we headed for this absolutely splendid model of an Independent Bookstore because of friends' recommendations. We are book people. but even if you can't read you can find many ways to relax in this lovely place. You're snug and warm and out of the snow, the cafe and the... More

The Tattered Cover is one of those bookstores you just want to hang out in and maybe spend a lazy Sunday afternoon. My wife on more than one Mother's Day, when asked what she would like to do on "her day" said "Let's go hangout in the Tattered Cover this morning and maybe have a wonderful cup of coffee over... Get your literary on at the Lodo Tattered Cover. Nothing like sipping an espresso among the stacks of books. Yummy snacks and breakfast/lunch items here. And I love supporting locally owned bookstores. Tattered Cover take me away!

The local B&B I was staying at suggested the Tattered Cover when I had just arrived in town and was looking for a place to grab a light lunch. I sat at a small counter and had a delicious pumpkin latte and caprese sandwich. Bookstores are very relaxing to me so I spent some time wandering around after eating. They... More
