Finally got to drive on Mount Evans Scenic Byway after living in Denver for 18 years. I have always wanted to make the drive but just never did it. Today my husband ran the Mount Evans Ascent race in which runners run up the paved road 14.5 miles to the top. I drove the road with my father-in-law to meet... More

This is one of the top 5 things we have ever done. It will get your adrenaline going, and take your breath away. The views are magnificent. You go through 3 different growth zones, and the thrill of driving on a NARROW road with no guard rails is great. I recommend this to anyone that loves big mountains, terrific views,... More

Hands down one of the most unique things my husband & I have ever done. The drive is not for the weak at heart though, if you're nervous about heights don't go.

This is a wonderful scenic drive but as the driver, you have to pay attention. Skinny roads with a huge drop off.

What a gorgeous drive that allows you to take in the stunning beauty of the Rockies. We drove up here at the end of May and enjoyed that the road was open even with all the snow still covering a majority of the top. Breathtaking views and the small roads wind around with switchbacks and sheer drops without guardrails. All... More

Go when it is clear and be prepared for cool weather. The drive is nice and has great views. The top is really neat. But the weather can change in an instant so be prepared in case it moves in on you.

Very scenic drive a short distance from Denver. Easily 15 degrees cooler than Denver so bring appropriate clothing and be prepared for afternoon storms. Great bike ride that will challenge your lungs. Go early to avoid the afternoon tourist crowds.

This is an amazing drive and it is so beautiful. If you are driving all the way to the top, make sure you bring water and dress warm. When we went the weather in Denver was in the 70s and at the top of Mt Evans with 50 mph winds it felt like it was in the teens. Drive safe... More

This was a nice time driving up the mountain. The views were incredible and there are some hikes that even a beginner can take. Rememberyou are at altitude and this can zap you strength quickly, so expect to go half the distance you normally hike unless you are acclaimated to the altitude.
