Fun shops but most on the "touristy" side. Favorite store was Termar but it has closed down. There is now a great little antique store in the same location.

So m any shops to visit from the tourist traps to great book stores, pubs and restaurants. The most common problem is finding and keeping a parking place.
So many shops, restaurants and the people are very very friendly. Check out the architecture on some of the buildings.
We go to Durango regularly, as we live fairly close. We always enjoy it! Downtown Durango has a distinct old west town feel, and is very visitor-friendly, with lots of cute shops, good restaurants and great scenery.
We put our walking shoes on and love coming down here each vacation. Nice variety of shops and fantastic eateries. Try the 'On The Corner Cafe" for a mouthwatering lunch and "Diamond Bell Saloon" for dinner w/ live local entertainment nightly (loved their cobb salad) just to name a couple. The people are very nice everywhere you go. Lots to...

We landed here on a road trip, and were pleasantly surprised. I wish we could have stayed longer and tried more of the excellent restaurants. Everyone was so friendly...in the stores, in the restaurants, and even on the streets.
A wonderful little town to walk up and down...great little shops and restaurants...wish we could have spent more time there...will be back.
Durango is a beautiful little town, set at the base of the Rocky Mountains. We enjoyed the shops and restaurants, and especially the Doubletree Hilton Hotel. It was a good base for sightseeing. It is only 40 miles from Mesa Verde National Park, and a perfect place to stay after a day of sightseeing.
