Even if you just take a 10 mile drive east from Glenwood Springs on this highway, the canyon is amazing. The road is an engineering marvel and there is a bike path that runs along the river below. Truly beautiful!

Beautiful scenery and a nice drive to the town of Redstone. Also found natural hot springs in the river and indulged in a free soak. The town of Carbondale was a nice old west town with interesting architecture. The Pizza joint in Carbondale has great pizza.

We drove down the canyon from Glenwood to Aspen and it was gorgeous! Nice little towns along the way and the drive was easy....no passes or narrow roads.

This valley is a gorgeous day drive. the 4x4 trail up towards Hagermans pass isn't bad except for the last 6 miles I did it up to the Y in the road with my Kia Optima. Very Pretty area and if you like fishing take the time to stop.

Incredibly beautiful and relaxing part of the world to hang your hat for a few days and enjoy life for awhile. Bike, jog, hike, fish or grab onto the side of a hot springs pool...the Roaring Fork Valley has it all.

On the other side of town, there is a path for walking along the Colorado River, but, if you wander into town, and just a little bit south, you can take a very similar walk along the Roaring Fork river. This path is more populated than the other path, with homes built along the river's bank, but the views are... More

Love seeing trout just waiting to be caught. Clear waters, gold medal fishing. Pools and beachy areas for the kids to play. Great!

We stay up mountain a little ways for skiing. But it's only about 10-15 minutes away so we go into Glenwood to eat, for the hot springs, etc... Great little town.
