Going down town to see what the old city was about was very fact finding and a pleasure.
It's a museum. Don't let the name fool you (as it did us). There are some permanent exhibits and some rotating. All worthwhile. We spent an hour, but you can see it in less time (we listened to lots of historic music of the town while seated in comfortable chairs). Inexpensive and worth a stop if you are in Golden...

I like that this didn't seam like a crowed closet and everything was well displayed in lit. Make sure you check their web site for exciting goings on, just enhances the visit. Oh and def get the combo ticket to the Astor house!
Small, but some real interesting things in this museum. Nice for those just moving to the area who want to learn a bit more about Golden.
The museum is well cared for and has interesting information about Golden. Combine this with a tour of Astor House on the same ticket.
The three sites that make up this "museum" in Golden are a must-see for fun-seekers and western history buffs. Golden is lucky to have 3 gems so close together, available to lucky visitors. The History Center is a top-quality space in which to get a flavor of early Golden. The History Park will take you right back to frontier living....

Visited the Golden Cemetery Tour Oct 1st. Presenters were appropriately dressed in Period clothing. Very professional and well versed in their explanation of their contribution to Golden's History.
