My two sons and I spent a week at Vail, a repeat visit as we've skied there for years. The snow was excellent, as usual, and there was an absence of visitors which wasn't expected as we were there over spring break. For the most part, the weather was clear, sunny and warm. Lift lines were nonexistent due to the... More

Amazing destination for ski. Great snow, lifts equipments and trails are top. The hotels and resorts are 5+ stars but you can also find fair priced hotels to stay. All the ski equipments stores that you can need to have the latest fashion and tech stuff. Prices are high but the quality of the restaurants, hotels, town area and of... More

Drop dead gorgeous scenery and charming exteriors, but yikes. I prefer to hang out where I don't feel I'm being looked down on because I'm wearing the wrong shoes. Surprised to see that others had a hospitable experience, but glad others did.

Vail is where skiers come to enjoy Vail,& Beaver Creek skiing. It's also reasonably close to Copper & Breckenrdge. Aspen is a 2 hour drive. Vail itself is a 3 hour drive from Denver International Airport (direct BA flight to Heathrow). Another option would be to fly to Eagle Airport (no drect flight) - only 45 minutes away but Eagle... Vail is so much more charming, authentic, hospitable and cozier than Aspen. Don't buy into all the hype of Aspen spend your money and time inVail.

Walking, window shopping, just roaming is fun here. You don't need to spend money -- although retailers would disagree. It's so different from the real world outside the mountains. One can even find Starbucks for a taste of the familiar, or Yeti's for coffee with locals. Ride the local bus too. It's free.

Vail village is adorable. However, parking is a hassle. 0-2 hours is free but 3-4 hours is $15. So we walked around then moved the car after 1.75 hours. Parked for free the entire day! Standard shops you would expect in a ski village. Repetitive t-shirt shops... Some really cool boutique shops like glass and hand made knick knacks. Good... More

no picture can ever do it justice. The scale is what takes you over. You feel just enveloped by the natural beauty and magnitude.

One of the best valley villages I have seen. Great achitecture, free public transportation, nice shops. Hey, there are even heated sidewalks and pedestrian plazas.
