This is the upgrade beach park from Hammonasset state park. The sand is better, the facilities are better, the park is nicer. If you can get a camping site in the lower camping area towards the end of the road in then you're golden. Nice sites with some shade and not a far walk to the beach. Some really good... More

The area is nice for camping and is well kept....although, the water has a seemingly ongoing problem with sewage so you can't swim all the time. If you are going to be camping, get there very very early...the spaces fill up very quickly. But overall, a nice area.

Niantic is the near town with a movie theater and a few nice restaurants. Not a great beach but a convenient one for CT folks and families

Rocky Neck has something for everybody in the family: warm water, fine sand, picnic tables, crabbing, fishing, walks and hikes, wildlife, snack bar. Best beach on the sound for young children.

Always a fun place for a hike or a day with the family, if you enjoy being outdoors. Hike, Bike, fish, Orienteering course. Nature Watch.

I visit this beach every couple of years when I'm staying in the area. The beach is always clean and not much seaweed to be found. I LOVE the boardwalk that runs along the back of the beach. It makes it so easy to wheel your beach stuff until you find the spot you want, Then it's just a short... More

Great place to go for a run on the beach; surrounding park is beautiful too--easy access also; rarely crowded in the off season

This is a great beach! Small compared to some of the larger state parks around it, but well worth the $9 for parking ( during the summer). I would recommend brigning a small waggon or beach cart to bring your stuff as it is a bit of a walk to get to the actual beach part. There are train tracks... More

I love taking day trips to rocky neck! I always have a great time!!! The sand is very white and so soft. Low tide is so much fun!!! Yes, just like any other great beach it can get crowded, but it's to be expected its summer and people love to go to the beach lol. The restrooms are cleaner than... More

This camp site leaves a lot to be desired. The people that run it know seemingly nothing about camping or the outdoors. They have a bunch of assanine rules designed to "keep you safe". Rules such as: you cannot hang anything from a tree (like a clothesline, because it will damage the tree bark) . All wheels must remain on... More
