You can relax and soak up the unique atmosphere with a great cup of coffee or a light meal in The Shires Rest Cafe, which is also available for functions, conferences or other occasions. Visit The Shire Store (below the cafe) for some special souvenirs to remind you of your visit. « less

Not only is it a verrrry looong drive its just noteworthy it! After the long drive you are greeted by the rudest. Inaccurate website details incorrect timings. Not even entertaining but costs a pricy $70!!! To see a little shack in a cold hole. Waste of waste of my life!

Four of us went on the tour, two of whom are keen Lord of the Rings fans and two who really just went for a day out. We went on a Saturday lunchtime tour and despite the terrible weather it was still really busy. Our guide, Aiden, was very good - amusing and knowledgeable. It was great to see the... More

I complain that i couldn't enjoy the tour at all. It's too rush and the tour guide is not kindly. I agree that the guide knows knowledge about the load of ring very well. But i need more time to enjoy the movie set and take pictures. The tour time is just around 105 mins, have to take all of... More

We have one member who is crazy about Lord of the Rings and she had a great time on this tour. Beautiful area and a lovely cafe.

This not one to be missed by Hobbit fans! Lots of behind the scene tidbits and on set stories. Our guide, Freddy, was great. It rates a 4 just because it exists, not thrown out like other film sets. You'll hear all about it when you visit. Do not want to spoil your fun. Not a five because there's only... More

My girlfriend is a big fantasy fan, and brought me along for the ride. The set is very well kept and almost surreal to be in. We took the first tour of the day at 0930, which meant that there weren't any groups ahead getting in the way of our photos (a hidden bonus we didn't think about at time... More

We were amazed by this movie set. We were likely in Peter Jackson's movies, except Gandalf was not there. The only thing that I couldn't rate this attraction "excellent" is the limited time. Our guide gave us very short time to stop and take picture. We wish we had been granted more time to really enjoy the Hobbiton...

The set its self is amazing and the tour guides are very knowledgeable but they rush you do much you're either left behind and have pictures or keep up and have no pictures. Not worth the money in the slightest, should be half the price if not less!

Found the tour of Hobbiton to be exactly what I expected. Right from the start, we were offered a warm welcome at the shire and cafe. The tour itself was fantastic , our guide was more than enthusiastic and she ensured that all on the tour, were enjoying their experience. Seeing the exact set of the Hobbit and Lord of... More

One of the best run tours I have been on. Great for locals and international visitors. Well worth planning this into your stay.
