We are familiar with Highland Hammock State Park and it did not compare with that. But considering that it is considerably smaller and so near the beach, it does offer quite a bit. Needs to be cleaned up and perhaps add some interesting reasons to go there. The train is dated and needs refurbishing.
Got away from crowds and felt like natural Florida. Quiet and relaxing. Tunnel access to beach and you have views of the intercostal!
sun, sand, flora, fauna. some plants are labeled but most aren't so it lacks information. great place to picnic by the water front.
We rented bikes here on a cool day in Fort Lauderdale and it was great! You can take the bikes off the property too. Comfy seats, nice staff, easy access. Such a better deal than getting a bike outside the B Ocean hotel.

park entrance fee 2 % p. P. , locatedbetween waterway and A1A beachfront, nice bike ways , picknick areas
This was near where we stayed so we walked there - we did not know how large it was! I would have been better to take the car as there were a lot of view points and trails. Good walks along the intercostal waterway, places to picnic etc.
