This water is not on the ocean, very small beach area...not that great. Perhaps good if you do not like crowds. I felt the air had a not so pleasant smell...I think it is near a treatment center.???

I absolutely love this park, I visit once a week by boat and then head out to the Sand bar. There are lots of things to do like renting kayaks and riding the mountain bike trails. You am also just relax on the beach they have and bbq grill. A true gem
Go here all the time, love the kayaking!! We have even seen dolphins a few times. Highly recommend it!!
This is my "go-to" spot to take friends who have never done standup paddleboarding before - the water is always calm especially by the launching area that is shared by kayakers who rent from Blue Moon Outdoor Center (the rental concession inside the park). The staff there are so friendly and helpful.
I've only used this park for standup paddleboarding...

When you come in to the park, they make you pay ten dollars to just park. Then, when you want to rent a kayak, they will charge you 35 dollars for one and a half hours. She decided to pay that because we already wasted 10 dollars on parking, so it would be a shame if we would just leave...

Oleta state park is a real gem - tucked away in NMB and nestled up against the intra-coastal waterway in Sunny Isles. It has lots of walks, cycle tracks, camping facilities, canoe / kayaking and a great cafe Blue moon. There is a fishing pier, swimming and a range of rentals available. You wouldn't know it's there but it's well...

Nice place to get out in nature and go kayaking, have a picnic, or go "mountain" (after all, this is flat South Florida) biking. Can get crazy busy on weekends and holidays
Bring your helmet and your sense of adventure. Smooth trails, beginner trails and many miles of healthy fun. I saw some courses with 20 foot hills. In Miami Yes. If you are going to the beach you do have to carry your stuff a ways so plan ahead.
It's big park with many things to do. You can rent small boats or bring your bicycle. There are very professional bike trails. You can also celebrate your birthday and have a barbecue
