The sound system is fantastic and because of the big screen and camera work it's possibly better than sitting inside. Everything is up close and personal. You can see the faces of the musicians. The crowd is polite and well behaved. Plenty of parking lots available. GREAT way to spend an evening!

Lovely space! If you get a chance to see something here, I recommend it. Big cities across the world need to take note (and copy!) of the great & innovative things they're doing here to make classical musical performance more accessible and more interesting.

Amazing music, in an incredible venue, with the classiest people in Miami. Their events for the Friends of the New World Symphony are top notch. This is a must! Great way to get involved in the community.

The New World Symphony building has a large white exterior wall where movies are shown on Wednesday nights. You can sit in the park in front of the building on blankets. Call ahead to confirm which movie and check weather delays or postponements.

You are totally right! Wednesday night at 8 pm is movie night, sponsored by the City of Miami beach, at the New World Symphony "Soundscape". It's a wonderful way for the family to watch movies outside - for free! Here's the schedule for the month of May 2013: May 1 Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005) Directed by... More

A symphony comprised of some of the county's best young musicians. The Frank Gehry designed building is worth the trip alone. Concerts are incredible. Also have free huge video wall concerts where you can picnic in their park. Make sure to go!

Go to their website and find out when the students present free concerts. The students are superb musicians so their concerts are terrific.

We took a guided tour of the Gehry-designed building on an afternoon before we were planning the Symphony. Our tour guide "Marty" was excellent, fun, well-informed, courteous, helpful and "upbeat." We enjoyed every aspect of our tour and then the pleasure of the Symphony. What a wonderful centerpiece of Miami Beach. Plan ahead for reservations for the tour and tickets... More

Thank you so very much for your kind words about my tour - much appreciated! There are 4 docent-led tours per week (Tuesdays/ Thursdays at 4 pm and Fridays / Saturdays at Noon) and this is a wonderful way to viewevery aspect Frank Gehry's architectural genius - from the Atrium, to the Roof Garden with arguably the best views in... NWS is an academy for young but experienced orchestral musicians. Performances are throughout the season, are very reasonably priced, and are in the new Frank Gehry New World Center. Musicianship is excellent as is the venue and variety of music.
