We stopped by on the way back from J.D. Ding Darling, just because it sounded fun. It is a small museum, not too exciting, but fun for kids and shell collectors. Nine bucks for adults is a lot for what you get.

Definitely worth going to. The staff was very helpful and eager to answer questions so the visit was very educational. We saw and learned about many of the shells we had collected on the beaches. They also had a variety of shells from other regions and a small live shell area worth seeing. The half-hour video was educational. There is a... More

Visited during a rainy day on the island and was very pleased. I didn't expect much, however, I left with more than I thought...a basic understanding of the shells I've found and seen and the life within!

Very informative museum on shells. Make sure you watch both 30 minute movies on shells and shelling. It will make your shelling much more productive. Receptionist was very informative, but once you are in the Museum, you are on your own. It is a little cold. Would have been nice to have a docent to ask questions or give a... More

We went on day 1 of our visit. So much to look at and read about sea creatures all around the world. The 2- 30 minute videos reveal a lot of what goes on in the sea world. Things I never suspected, from reproduction to cannibalism. It's a self guided tour. We found it helpful for us as we began... More

The first time I went t the museum it was because a friend wanted to go. I thought it would be boring, but I was so wrong. The exhibits and the two movies were fascinating to see. Who knew there was so much to know about shells? There is even a lovely little gift shop. I have been back many... More

Nice display of shells from nearby and around the world. Gift shop well stocked but pricey of course even with sales. We spent about an hour, very informative and colorful. Children are very happy here.
