This place works like a charm for a date. Lots of neat plant life and more flowers than you can imagine (at the right time of year, spring!) Rarely crowded and doesn't cost a lot to enter. Bring a few bucks to try the exotic tea in-house.
The ticket price is well worth it to view this exceptional garden. It is a research facility for epiphytes as well as the best display of orchids I have ever seen. It is a special place to have a walk and quiet lunch by the bay, don't miss it!
Every time we are in Sarasota we stop by Selby and tour the ever changing orchid exhibit and walk the grounds. Each season brings new colors with flowering trees, hibiscus collection, flowering cactus. The view of the harbor is always beautiful. We love the huge banyan tree. So peaceful and relaxing. At certain times of the year there are concerts...

Additionally, there are so many unique natural and unusual specimens to see as well as purchase. Nice place to walk around and...

The lead singer of the group was talented and versatile and made the performance a special one. The second event on the following Sunday afternoon in May...

This garden is very unique. it combines science and beauty very nicely. Very lush and green with lots of people to answer your questions and lots of lizards to entertain you. We'll definitely go back.
Really pretty views to the bridge and nice to take a stroll. Still: entrance fee -like everything these days- is way overpriced.
