I went with my dad and 11 year old sister and the trail did not disappoint. Flat and good for a long ride. Legacy Trail is a rail to trail conversion that runs from South Sarasota to Venice. Very well maintained and easy flat ride.

Having borrowed a cycle and ridden the trail last year, this year we are in training for a sponsored walk and walked 20 miles down the trail to Venice and back, met loads of friendly people, and the shade from the tree canopies was great for such a long walk. So much to see along the way

Just a few days ago I cycled up to the north end of the Legacy Trail and discovered the not-quite-open-yet Culverhouse Nature Park. What a beautiful example of old Florida landscape. Part former pasture - park shady oak hammock, and with a community garden to boot. I understand this was a donation from the Culverhouse family - what a fitting...

What a great idea….to take an old railroad and turn it into a safe place to enjoy nature…have rode our bikes many many times…and always enjoy it! It is very safe and not too crowded…everyone is friendly and there are places to stop and rest every few miles and even a port-a-potty here and there. Don't miss this lovely, peaceful...

We bike the trail every time we vacation in Siesta Key, doing different parts on different days, adding in Venice, the Canal, Caspersen Beach, the Fishing Pier and the north end for manatee and dolphins. We even had a Gator at the side of the trail this time - bit scary. Try it!

This is a very safe (not on road) isolated paved trail between Sarasota and Venice. It is approximately 10 miles in length with many stops along the way. You can rent bikes and take them to the trail head.

Beautiful trail; we saw snakes crossing the road, turtles, birds, lizards, you name it. It was like going on a bike ride through Jurassic Park! I love it

paved and flat lots of miles with no cross traffic great views of Dona and Roberts Bays Goes to Venice Train Station and picks up the Venetian Waterway park for additional miles
