The Trail is mostly flat, very long, but does cross a few highways. It's been extended several times and now must be around 20 miles long. It goes thru Canopy woods and has a "coastal-area" topography, sandy and scraggly, but interesting. 2 different parking areas, though sometimes, when busy, not enough. Great for walking, bicycling, skating. No motorized vehicles allowed.

In years past, a bike trip from Tallahassee to Saint Marks along a hard-surfaced trail along an old railroad bed would be a high point outting in spring or fall. That was because Posey's with cold beer and great oysters awaited at the Saint Marks end. But alas, Posey's, flooded by a hurricane several years ago no longer awaits at... More

The bike trail is level and well groomed. You can bike from Southwood all the way to St. Marks. At St. Marks you can have lunch and a beer and visit Fort San Marco.

This former railroad track to the coast is now a paved trail and favorite of cyclists -- locals and those attracted to the area's other trails and courses. It's a great ride to the coast for some of the freshest seafood possible at lunch, then a quick turn around trip back to Tallahassee. Well maintained and popular so you won't... More

This was a great leisure ride for my wife and I. We search out paths from the Rails-To-Trails Conservancy and plan trips to ride them,as was the case here.(traillink.com) The trail was well marked, had great facilties along the path and was very scenic south of the Capital Circle trailhead. We'll be back to do this again. Thanks RTC!!

We took advantage of the newly paved road and cycled from Tallahassee trailhead to Saint Mark's and back. As we only started riding close to 3pm and wanted to get back to our car before it gets too dark, we did not get to stay at the Saint Mark's end for long. If you cruise at 10-12 miles an hour,... Well used 16 mile bike/hiking trail from Tallahassee to coastal fishing town of St. Marks. Excellent seafood restaurants at trail's end. Goes through pristine national forest.

There is a trail head for this bike trail near Wakulla, about 6 miles from St. Marks and roughly half way between the Tallahassee and St. Marks terminus's of the trail. The trail head is well equipped with a marvelous playground and picnic areas. The trail itself is an 8' wide paved strip on the bed of what used to... More
