Last week of skiing so we got there at the end. The food was good. Can't say much about drink because we didn't have any. Great place for kids. Easy to get to a must see for the area. Very relaxing.

I am not a specialist in sky resorts, it was actually the first time that I actually skied, but it was very cool, the resort is beautiful, great view to Mississipi River and all kind of tracks available, from the begginers to the faster downhills. I did not stayed, just went there for a day but the installations looked good...

Lots of slopes for every level of skier at this mountain resort. It's where I learned to ski...and fell in love. There's a beautiful lodge for relaxing over a sandwich or a drink when the slopes have worn you out. Skiing under the lights makes for a most memorable time in the great outdoors.
Can't beat Chestnut for midwest skiing. This is the third time we have been here in the last few years. Both days the conditions were respectable with a wide choice of runs. Skiing at night you can almost pretend you are in the mountains somewhere. I have been sking for over 50 yrs. and Chestnut is a great 'local' choice.
Just skied today and enjoyed excellent powder, unlike anything I've experienced before in the Midwest. This was my second visit to Chestnut and I was once again impressed by the quality of their rental equipment, professionalism of their staff, and breathtaking views of the Mississippi River. Great dining options at the resort and in downtown Galena. On Wednesdays, a lift...

Chestnut Mountain:

They have 3 black...

I wasn't impressed with the number of mountains for beginners. Only 2 to be exact. Everything else was very steep and ice covered.
What fun, taking the slide down the hill and the very open ariel car back up! Should have gotten the multi-ride pass. Oh well. Quite the hike to drive up here. Great view of the river.
Both kids had a 3 hour lesson which was great! Instructors were very good and it was not pricey. Staff overall was excellent. We checked in and out very fast. Snow and slopes were in great shape. No long lines. I can`t wait to go again. My 6 year old can fly down the hill now!! For the Midwest-Outstanding!!
The mountain was closed the day we arrived, because of high winds. At 475 vertical feet, this was a pretty big surprise that they got such big winds. But when it opened next day, they were snowmaking all day, in spite of 10 inches of new slow. Just about froze my face off on the bunny hills. Good instructor for...
