Really friendly volunteers run this place. Excellent exhibits, a few of which are even for sale if your wallets can handle the price tags. Free to visit and a nice start to the day!

We stopped in this museum on our Route 66 adventure. The displays for these various Pontiacs are done fabulously. We were told that the display does in fact change and these are all cars from peoples private collections. Each car is in a setting of the time period in which the car was from. I truly loved the 60's station...

Another small museum in Pontiac, IL that features Pontiac cars over the years. This small central Illlinois town has a few interesting musems and some local attractions, like the 3 swinging bridges in town, that make it worth a stop. There are also about 25 large murals around town that merit a look.
We visited this museum on June 5th. There is free parking at the corner of E Washington and S Chicago. The museum is free, you can give a donation. They do change from time to time the car models. Inside you have the possibility to scan a QR code for more information. There are several video's made by Pontiac in...

A great museum with very friendly owners who are willing to tell and show you everything they know and have. I hope to come back again in the near future, but i'm sure we will ;-) If it was only to take a look at the Judge.
This takes you back! Loved it all especially the kindness and hospitality of the staff on sat 5/18. The hood ornament and oil can collection are terrific. Never saw anything like it. Bathrooms were exceptionally clean. Great exhibit, town and people!
Not very big but good for a half a hour or so. It had some nice things like old records and such from many years ago.
The exhibits were nicely done and varied and the cars beautifully displayed. We were able to recall many stories from our parents day when we checked out the classic designs. I especially like the Library area. My husband was in heaven!
If you like shiny cars this is for you. Small but sweet but worth a visit. A lot crammed in, and nice to dream.
I thought this free museum was about Pontiac, the city in which it is located. Not so. This museum is about the auto. It contains some really old Pontiacs and its predecessor the Oakland (never heard of an Oakland until this museum). The owners are very friendly and helpful in explaining the cars. It even has an old Oakland horse...
