The castle smells a little funny, but the view is terrific. The Symphony of Lights runs from Thanksgiving through Christmas, definitely worth checking out.
This is a beautiful park just north of Clinton, Iowa. We picked up some food in Clinton and ate at this park right on the Mississippi. Very well maintained and we saw two bald eagles while there.
Big, lots of playgrounds for children. Grill sites with grills. Picnic sites abound. From secluded to open. Some many tables to a few with one table. Driving trail threw park. All one way. Loved this park as a kid and really enjoyed bringing my kids back to it.... The castle is still really cool, the park is shaded nicely for the kids to play.... Miss the monkey & bird house tho :) Mississippi River is beautiful no matter when I go :)
Went on motorcycles and had a great time stopping for the views, great drive from quad cities with our group of 8 bathrooms were clean and whole park was clean.
So many generations of our family have event photos with Eagle Point as the backdrop that it feels like a part of our family. Numerous different play areas that are perfect for children of a variety of ages, hiking suitable for a variety of ages and difficulty levels. If you prefer, driving through is great too! Extremely beautiful views... pay the extra quarter for the viewing machine overlooking the Mississippi river- allows up close views of passing barges, etc.
