This is not my idea of fun but my husband really enjoyed it. The tour guide was less than engaging and I found myself counting beams, crates and workers. However, there is something really cool about seeing how a Navy ship is built. It is awe striking and hard to believe all that goes into putting together the puzzle, called... More

This tram tour travels through-out the navy yard, which is one of the largest employers in the state of Maine. There is a lot going on in the numerous buildings and for someone not knowledgeable on all things Navy,(like me), it was a little technical and I didn't follow everything, but the guide surely knew his stuff!

This tour leaves from the Maritime Museum and spends about 45 minutes going through the shipbuilding yard. Our guide, who works there, was very interesting to listen to and it was fascinating to see how they build these modern naval vessels. They always have several ships in progress, and I only wish that we could have seen one that was... More

Wow! there it was in the process - the next generation "Zumwalt" destroyer. Our guide (Who works there) made the tour very interesting and seeing the Destroyer "Michael Murphy" ready for being prepped for it's early September launch was Awesome! Check out the Maritime Museum too. Two hours max.

Our party of six went on the tour and while I thoroughly enjoyed it, my wife almost went to sleep. I was in the navy years ago and could understand what was happening and the newer style of building ships but my wife did not. I do understand that because the tour is a glimpse of what is happening in... More

I went with my family of 5. It came highly recommended and we were to be in the area so we booked the tour. Honestly we were bored. That being said I am not interested in ship building or engineering, etc. I am pretty much up for any kind of museum, love history, art and nature but this didn't do... More
