A beautiful place for outdoor enthusiasts. Moose safaris, white water rafting, lots of fishing. People unbelievably friendly and ready to help anyway they can.

Lots of trails, beautiful scenery. Will be going back again. Little Kineo was a good hike, and the only place we saw moose.

Very large lake. Ate at the Black Frog with a full view of the lake. Went on a boat ride, unfortunately it was cold and rainy but we still enjoyed ourselves. Sign up at North Woods Outfitters. The 2 guides were very friendly and brought wine, cheese and crackers, veggies with dip and cold shrimp to munch on during the... More

Over the years we have stated at many different places on Moosehead Lake including Lily Bay Campground, Moosehead Chalet and a number of other fine places. A couple years ago on one of our evening moose "safari's" we found Tomhegan Camps, just 6 miles north of Rockwood. Amazing place. Deer wandering around and easily fed by hand, quiet, beautiful, well... More

When the road from Bangor ends at the waters edge you have arrived at Moosehead Lake. You will see it laid out before you as you top the hill coming into town and it will take your breath away. The blue of the sky and the blue of the water are so perfectly in sync. There are roads around the... More

Loved the natural beauty, and if you choose the chance to get away from it all. Area is one of the most enchanting areas in Maine

Went in Sept 2012. This town was pretty much shut down. A little later and the fall folage most likely would have changed my mind.

We have been coming to Moosehead lake for the past three years now. The wife was dieing to see a moose, did a search on google, learned about Moosehead Lake, and we've been coming here ever since! Just an example, this spring we saw a total of 28 moose! As well as looking for moose, the lake is beautiful! Every... More

While visiting Greenville, my husband & I booked a Moose Safari with Young's Guide Service. We went out on a 5:30 am trip which lasted 4 hours. Our guide Chris was just awesome! He picked us up in his warm truck and the 3 of us went on our way. Chris doesn't jam as many people into his truck as... More

Simply enjoyed driving around the lake, stopping at many vantage points for pictures. Great places to walk and particularly love one spot where there were 3 beautiful old churches sitting side by side.
