We spent a few days in Portland end of October and truly enjoyed our trolley tour. We had an outstanding guide "Scott" who was funny and very knowledgeable. Great way to see the city as well as its outskirts and to learn the many details surrounding its history.

We arrived by cruiseship on 10/20/2012. I reserved 2 seats on the Trolley tour online thru the Discovery Tours website. There was a shuttle available to take us to pick up our tickets and catch the trolley. It was a very foggy day but we still managed to see alot & our tour guide Bramps was very funny & informative.... More

We took the 1.5 hour trolley tour of Portland, ME and loved it! It was a wonderful way to get a glimpse of the city and a history lesson of the city. We had a great tour driver and guide, Brambz. Following the trolley tour we added the Lighthouse Lovers boat tour of 7 lighthouses in the bay. It was... More

I loved our tour guide Questionable Doug! He was fabulous! He was so knowledgeable and entertaining at the same time! I had been I think most all the other tours and if I had to pick one to recommend it would be this one ! I learned so much from him. Now I know that when you go on a... More

If you want to see the highlights of Portland, don't miss this tour. It is inexpensive and you get a comprehensive view of the city. Our guide was Scott and if you take this tour, do your best to get him. He was very friendly and funny - my side hurt from laughing after we got off the trolley! It... More

The Portland Trolley Tour is a pleasant enough ride – which lasts a couple of hours and takes you around most of the central part of the city. The tour includes also a drive across the Casco Bay Bridge to South Portland and a brief visit to the Portland Head Lighthouse. But other than the lighthouse, the tour has hardly... More

We would completely agree that you take in all the Old Port area has to offer as it is a beautiful area with lots of the shops, cafes, and bars that niels-j mentions. As a local, I absolutely love this area on my days off. However, for clarication, while the trolley tour begins and ends in the Old Port, it... More

We took the Lighthouse Lovers Cruise. We had booked our tickets a month ahead of time when we planned our trip, and stopped by Old Port to pick up our tickets the day before the tour. The tour itself was great. We learned a lot about lighthouses, lobsters, and the history of Portland. We even got to see a seal.... More

Have been visiting the Portland area for years for business but rarely had a chance to see all it had to offer. We went for a long weekend and decided to take the Land and Sea tour. We did the trolley tour one day and the sea tour on the next - that worked out to be ideal. We had... More

On September 18, 2012, my group of 52 passengers toured Portland, Maine, with Portland Discovery, when Carnival Glory docked at Portland, Maine. I arranged the tour with Jake Charette, Portland Discovery manager, including pick up and drop off at the pier. We took the 90 minute cruise around Casco Bay at 9:30 AM, went to lunch on the Wharf, and... More

I've found that discovery tours depend on the knowledge and delivery of the person giving the information. The lady really knew her "stuff." I wish I had her name. She covered lots of ground including the Portland Head Lighthouse in Cape Elizabeth. I was amazed by the history of Portland and the beautiful Victorian mansions still housing only one family!...
