With a staff comprised of experienced and passionate educators/instructors, Thorfinn offers "hands on" outdoor experiences lasting from a few hours to many days.The adventure sailing program is primarily based on the Maine Coast (homeport: Rockland, Maine) but operates between Atlantic Canada and the Florida Keys. Utilizing a unique and award-winning Presto 30, Thorfinn offers several-hour sailing trips, expeditions for people who want to learn and participate in the trip, and custom adventures that can combine sailing, coastal exploration, hiking and climbing. The Stand Up Paddle Board Program takes place in Midcoast Maine. Thorfinn offers rentals, sales, lessons, fitness training and tours. Thorfinn Expeditions has an adventure for everyone, from the novice who is interested in a sight-seeing sail around Penobscot Bay to the experienced, hands-on adventurer who wants to experience the outdoors in a unique and thrilling way.Thorfinn is a sales representative for Ryder Boats (builder of the Presto 30), Wylie Cat performance sailboats, and Tahoe SUP (an excellent line of touring SUPS).The Thorfinn shop is located at 481 Main Street in Rockland, Maine and shares space with Bikesenjava and Snowenjava - the three business members are part of the Rockland Outdoor Coalition (ROC). Our family visited Acadia National Park the first week of July. Thor met us in NE Harbor and took us out for a day on Somes sound. He has years of sailing and instructing experience and made us feel extremely comfortable. He had a great demeanor with the kids (19,17,15) and got just the right blend of instruction and fun.... We had a blast cruising the Florida Everglades and 10,000 Islands for five days on the sailing vessel Thorfinn. Captain Thor Emory is fun and the boat is comfortable and fast.
