We cam here to checkout the place. We had heard from others that it was worth a trip, especially off season. As it turned out, we were practically the only ones there. Unfortunately, the house itself doesn't open until May 23 so we had to settle for walking around the extensive grounds. The views here are stunning, and the grounds... More

I visited on April 30, 2013. It was a beautiful Spring day and I knew I could get some great pictures without encountering many visitors. I got my wish because there was no one there, except employees. The views from Castle Hill are just incredible. The mansion is located at the top of the hill in the midst of a... More

What is better than an American Castle on beautiful green, rolling hills that overlook the ocean?! Wow. You can even see whales breaching at times. Ammmmmaaaaazing. Bring your kids!

This is a summer home built by the founder of Crane fixtures for his wife. The home is located on a huge expanse of land that includes much shoreline and hilly trails. The home and landscape were designed together, to provide unique vistas for the residents, while hiding the "less desirable" elements such as the guest houses and access road.... More

Great place for all ages - toddlers, HS, college students and more, to enjoy music and the beautiful location. Bring a picnic and get there early for parking.

Castle Hill is a wonderful place to imagine life on the Gold Coast in Golden Times. Filmed in the Witches of Eastwick, the house and its outbuildings are a nod to a bygone era. Check with the Trustees of Reservations before you visit as they have many activities.

This "Castle" and Estate were owned by the late Cornelius Crane (started Crane Plumbing). It is very palacial and the tours are very informative. The grounds are absolutely beautiful.

Crane Estate is a wonder to behold. The house, built for the Crane family of Crane plumbing fixtures, is a fabulous North Shore treasure and a glimpse of classic summer grandeur. I would highly recommend going on a day when the house is open for tours, but even if you can't, the exterior and grounds are worth a visit. The... More

This is one of my favorite places to visit in New England. The grounds are spectacular . The grand alee is very dramatic and has an amazing view of the ocean. After exploring the grounds and gardens you can take a beautiful walk from the house , down the grand alle to the beach. It is a longer and more... More
