Entering the park that is home of the beach, turn to the right. You park right up next to the sandy beach with ocean not 30 feet from you. Saw seal and lots of great shore birds.

Unfortunately, the facilities building (Toilets, Showers, Concessions) was demolished at the end of the 2012 season, and is STILL in the processes of being replaced. Beach is clean and free of trash, plenty of parking when I visited...but surprised at how crowded the lot was for a weekday, but got a parking spot and a beach spot easy enough.

Drove from my hometown of Sandwich, MA to Provincetown on Memorial Day. Walked around P-Town for a couple of hours and then headed over to Herring Cove Beach for sunset. This was perhaps the most stunning sunset I've ever seen on the East coast! Go there and see for yourself, spectacular!

One thing beats a day at the beach; a perfect beach day in Provincetown!! It is the absolute unplug!! For me it is the best way to deal with the summers here. Sneaking to a secluded area for R & R is a rejuvenation! After a hectic Memorial Day weekend it was well earned. The natural beauty is breathtaking and... More

This is a great location to watch the sunset. Come back after dinner to see the stars, and lighthouse.

This is the beach to go to in the West End of Provicetown for watching the sunset. Many folks arrive to watch the sun set into the ocean. Great place for pictures.

This is the go to spot for locals to check out the sunset. In the winter you can sit even sit cozy in your car and still catch the beautiful views. If you are lucky enough to be there at the right time,--usually early spring--you may even see right whales feeding and cavorting just a few hundred yards offshore.

Herring Cove Beach is one of the most beautiful places on the East Coast of the United States. Combined with its unmatched beauty, Herring Cove is a "multi-purpose" location. There are several different beach areas: 1) to the far right (as you face the ocean, it's in the direction of the lighthouse) you can walk to Hatches Harbor. Hatches Harbor... More

easy to get onto the beach for great sunset shots. The local magazine gives sunset times so you can make your way out there in time.

We were in Provincetown for 4 days in April, and went to Herring Beach every day to let the dogs run. I don't know how it is in season, but in April there was plenty of wide open spaces for the dogs to run. Beautiful, accessible beach.
