Museum was fairly good. There were more paintings and writings about the pirates than actual artifacts. They had a fair amount of artifacts, but not nearly enough as we would have liked to see. It was $10 pp for admission, which wasn't bad.
The map showed this as an "exploration museum," but it was really just an expensive tourist trap. If you're looking for serious and informative displays on undersea exploration and archaeology, this isn't the place. If your young child just likes to play pirate, maybe this is a place to go on a rainy day.
This wasn't a bad museum, but I expected to see a lot more booty! There was *some* pirate booty there, and in once case you could stick your finger in and touch real silver coins recovered from the pirate ship, but there really wasn't much of the actual booty on display. Very kid friendly and informative. The museum is out on MacMillan Wharf. It has treasures that were pulled up from the sea bottom which are really amazing. Be sure to get a coupon from any tour book for a discount
If you can't say anything good then don't say anything at all. Well the gift shop and location are impressive, but if history is what you are after and the incredible story of this shipwreck, then I am afraid you should save yourself the admission fee and buy one of the books in the gift shop instead. Horrible exhibit. If you see the outside of the building, you've seen the best of it. There are a couple national geographic style videos inside that really don't explain much. The exhibit itself was primarily made up of replicas and not the real items found....there were a few things, but nothing worth entry. I went with two teenagers...I'm a huge...
