Wear good shoes because the end beyond the lighthouse can be slippery, but it's a delightful and beautiful walk as long as it isn't stormy.

The Grand Haven Lighthouse and pier are very beautiful. Located at Grand Haven State Park it is very fun to walk out and watch all the boats in Lake Michigan. It can be very dangerous. You need to use good judgment on windy days.
I live in Grand Haven and enjoy walking the boardwalk and the pier. There is parking along the street and also in the Fisherman's lot near the pier. As with all state parks, there is an entrance fee for parking in that lot unless you have paid the MI license fee. The main bathhouse is not open until June, but...

I was disappointed to find that the parking lot for the pier was open only to Michigan residents. I suppose I could have parked in town and walked along the sidewalk, but I did not know in advance. I stopped at the visitor center in Grand Haven, and they told me there was plenty of parking, but I guess they...

there is a board walk linking downtown Grand Haven all the way to the end of the pier - about a mile walk, or little less. Pleasant on warm days and still enjoyable with jackets on in the fall. Unusual catwalk to see above the pier. Fishermen catch fish off the pier many days.
You can walk, fish or just enjoy the beautiful views. Whether i'ts winter with the icebergs, or summer with sand, it's a relaxing visit.
My finace and I went to the Grand Haven lighthouse and pier. It was a great time and we walked along the entire pier in the snow. I wouldn't recommend this for families with small childern during the winter months because there isn't a guard rail to hold onto. and the lake is fronzen. But, we loved it and love...

Wonderful places to shop for clothing, food, wine, antiques. There are historic 19th century lighthouses, and the magical water fountains. I feel Grand Haven is one...

A very fun walk along the river and out to the pier. Great for watching boats leaving and returning. Great also for fishing.
Live here and very rarely go to the each but it is a lovely view. Love to go anytime of the day or night.
