Visited this zoo in October and really enjoyed it. It's small, but the exhibits are nicely done. Reasonably priced, but you also have to pay for parking.
I felt like I have seen these animals a million times. nothing exciting or different. $5 a car load plus entry fee. not worth it. The gift shop is so expensive. Bathrooms are gross, play area is dirty, we drive the distance and go to the Detroit zoo.
Potter Park Zoo has a nice variety of animals for a smaller zoo. The size of the grounds make it pretty easy to cover with small children and it is relatively flat making it easy to walk around if that can be a challenge. I used to enjoy going a few times a year. I either had a membership, allowing... More
Have not been to Potter Park Zoo in 15 years. Enjoyed walking around and appreciating the animals. Not a large collection, but with a wide variety from around the word. A nice place to take children and wonderful for older people to walk around in a safe environment. Worth visiting for a couple of hours.
I have been visiting Potter Park Zoo every year for twenty years now. The fact that I never miss a year says something good about it. It's a nice little zoo with shade and is on flat land, which makes it easier for those with limited energy for walking, or limited time for visiting. It's also a nice zoo for... More
Great thing to do on a summer afternoon. It is a little smaller than most zoos but you it feels like you can get a lot closer to the animals. The animals really do seem to be well cared for even if the exhibits are a little small. We went just after feeding time for some of the animals and... More

Potter Park Zoo is a small zoo best for making it great for those who cannot endure long walks. The zoo features a nice variety of animals within a fairly small area. The price is high for those not a resident of Lansing. I prefer Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek.
