Lots of streets radiate off Taumadhi Sq so you can wander down residents streets. Much moreso than in Kathmandu's Durbar Square. Taumadhi Square itself has too many advertising hoardings above the shops. It's RP1100 (£9) to go into Bhaktapur because they are 'preserving' it. However, all the advertising spoils it

You cannot miss is, but even if you do not plan to stay in Bhaktapur, go and visit this part of the town. Better that any square in Nepal and the middle aged way of living in the whole town is breathtaking.

I like Taumadhi Square best in Bhaktapur. It's near to my guest house so everyday I like to sit on the five stories temple for a while to look people below. This is a little busy but beautiful square.

I think this is the best square in B. There are a few restaurants at/around the square. Make sure you have a good view the entire square and you won't notice where the day's gone.

We found a local student to show us around the square and the rest of the ancient city. This was the best money we could have spend without already having a tour guide. This square was full of life and culture on a beautiful fall Saturday!
