We promised my son we would ride the Solar System once he learned to ride his bike. He mastered it at the end of last summer, so we kicked off this summer with a ride on Memorial Day Monday. The sun, being the center of the universe, is where we started. Parking is available behind the Traverse City Public library.... More

My family biked the trail from Sutton's Bay to Traverse City and had a wonderful time. The trail is well maintained with very slight gradient changes that were not too taxing. The views were enjoyable.

I live right next to the trail and it is the bomb. This converted railroad bed is great for hiking biking jogging and walking. It is open year around and very well maintained. The loop along the east side of Boardman Lake is beautiful also. Take the time to go for a ride. You can rent a bike for Brick... More

Its a great way to avoid traffic. We usually park in Acme and make our way downtown. The trail is a mix of shade and sun. There are places to stop and rest if you need to. If you stop at the Brick Wheels bike shop you can fill up your water bottles and use the restroom. Take the trail... More

One of the best trails in TC begins out at the light house in Old Mission and meanders through several miles of forest, meadows and old orchards. Some inclines, gorgeous views, trail marking better as of this year. Great parking, bathroom facilities available.

We joined the trail near the library and have walked in two of the directions, about 3miles each. One direction went to a residential area, passing under a railroad bridge, the other took us along the lake-shore before just petering out.. I think a map would have helped BUT that's minor. The trail is very easy, mostly paved and no... More

We visited Boardman Lake and found the trail which borders the east side just beautiful with the fall color. We parked in the south parking area and rode up the 2 mile trail to Hull Park and the Grand Traverse Children's Garden. It is very level with the wooden bridges and planked walkways constructed over otherwise difficult terrain in some... More

We rode about half the trail, starting mid-point and riding north into Sutton's Bay. The trail is smooth, in great shape, and runs through peaceful countryside. This is a wonderful amenity for the area. We also rode the new 5 miles from Glen Arbor to the Dune Climb. That's a really pretty ride as well.
