I love the colors more so than anywhere in the world. Yellows reds oranges. I hike it every year in September. I love the switch backs. It's like a real mountain in Minnesota.

This is such a scenic area, especially in the winter. There are a few ski trails along the way that are worth stopping at. Climb Oberb Mountain if you have time, the view from the top is breathtaking.
This is a fairly easy hike, there are several stop points to view the scenery around Lutsen, from the Lake Superior views to the forest... Great way to spend an hour of your day!
If you are going to do only one hike along the North Shore, this is the ONE!!! What a great way to get a little exercise and take in the amazing views. The fall colors were spectacular in 2012.

This takes a bit to walk but definitely worth it - I would allow a couple hours at least especially if you are taking pictures. There are a number of overlooks as you hike around the mountain.
Beautiful any time of year. A fairly easy hike where you may get to see moose, bear, deer and all sorts of birds. Enjoy!
There is some uphill involved in the beginnning, but once you are up at the top, the views are great and varied. You get to see both Lake Superior and inland woods and lakes from above.
This loop is amazing in the fall. Not to challenging and lots of overlooks!
