Road construction didn't allow us to go to the picnic area just north of Duluth. Lake was great. We found our way by way of my poor memory of he area to have smoked fish. Weather was awesome. Many deer everywhere; hard to believe. We had a nice day minus the picnic I had planned.

What's not to like about this drive? Awesome lake views of ships coming and going on a beautiful blue sparkling lake. Nice little shops and restaurants along the way too! Lots of places to stop and gaze!

It's hard to keep your eyes on the road, as you pass so many interesting things to see. There are numerous places to stop (restaurants, state parks, museums, etc.) that appeal to all ages. We went during off-season (late winter), but still found numerous things to see and do.

Many stop in Duluth and never make it North along the Coast of Lake Superior. This is a must drive year round. Majestic can't cover it.

I have been to the North Shore so many times yet I never get tired of it! Lake Superior is always so majestic no matter what time of year you visit. There is so much to do and see along the drive that you could never see/do it all in one trip. Every season offers a unique experience as well.... More

This drive offers several places to stop and have a picnic lunch or skip a few rocks on the water. Take a short stroll down the shore of Lake Superior and get captivated by the soothing sounds of the water. For those extra brave, take off your shoes and socks and stick your feet in that wonderfully cool water and... More

We have traveled here too many times to count, but this was the first time we went as far as Cascade State Park. It was beautiful to see the water flowing under the ice. There was snow, but the plow trucks did an excellent job of keeping the roads clear and safe.

Stay off the main highway and take this route to Two Harbours! It's a beautiful lakeside drive that hugs the shoreline for most of the journey. There were plenty of lakeside resorts along the way that looked really nice!

We love the North Shore Scenic Drive. In the fall it is stunning, especially as you get close to Grand Marais. If you have time, continue on up to the Canadian Border. Some of the views near Grand Portage are unbelievable.
