This is a great place to visit any time of year. The coldest winters may be the best, as the falls freeze into fantastic formations. The park is large and great for small kids. My sons and I used to like to walk the trail that follows the creek to the river, which is only a mile or so, and... More

I came to Minnesota at the end of winter, supposedly. But winter dragged on through the beginning of spring, which was totally fine with me since I'm from Grenada! Anyway I visited to falls with my younger brother and father. At first we didn't think we could get so close but jumping over the fence after a bunch of middle... More

Who knew, pretty cool falls from a creek running into the Mississippi River. A great place for families, friends or just a quiet walk in the woods. There appeared to be plenty to do, places to eat, hikes, outdoors. It was a great place to visit while in Minneapolis. Don't miss it.

Beautiful park with hiking and bicycling trails. Minnihaha Falls is on the property and adjacent to the Sea Salt Eatery which is know for its seafood, especially fish tacos. The park is a great place to enjoy a leisure afternoon and grab some good food.

This was very cool - you could also walk up a fairly steep slope and walk behind the frozen waterfall - it was the blue of icebergs. It was cold and snowy so we didn't do too much exploring, but looks like a great park. Definitely worth the short walk to the waterfall- at least when it's frozen.

Growing up by the Atlantic Ocean I used to ask my mother when was the ocean going to freeze like the ponds sometimes did on the golf courses. I naturally never would have thought moving water could freeze but one of the neatest things I ever saw was when I visited in February when it was extremely cold and the... More

This is so close to our home we use it as a summer place to take a walk. for tourists, it does have a restaurant next to the parking area just before you reach the falls viewing area. It is best to visit earlier in the summer, or after a significant rainy period, as the falls is totally dependent on... More

Just 1.5 blocks from the 46th St. light-rail station. Junction of Minnehaha Creek (which creates the beautiful waterfall) and the Mississippi River. Great park, with terrific opportunity for long walks. Historicpark pavillion is now a ahip, causual seafood restaurant - owned by the areas major l seafood supplier.. SeaSalt Eatery.. Very casual! Indoor (picnic tables- or outside deck close to... More

Much to do here that is free. Be sure to see Minnehaha falls, which can be dramatic in the spring (or anytime after a rain). If you have time and interest, follow the creek below the falls down to the Mississippi. Nice place to picnic. For a modest price, take a bicycle around the park. This is a justifiably treasured... I grew up in Minneapolis and have been here many times over the years. The Falls themselves are typically not overwhelming - that happens only in the Spring and sometimes in the Winter - but the hining trails are wonderful. Many great picnic spots for families.
