This a very Beautiful Lake and Area. A lot of nice place to stop and have picnics or to just enjoy the beauty.

It really reminded me of Indiana Lake a lot at first. But, there are not that many things to do here. We swam out there and we sailed and skied as well. People encountered were kind of hickie often in fishing boats, was something we did notice which didn't seem friendly at all. Oh and a friend got "pulled over"... More

We saw 50-75 ice sailing craft in use on Sunday morning - the last Sunday in January. They were by Lake City.

Took a drive around the lake in January and even then it was beautiful. Would like to go back in summer or fall.

We took one of the last boat rides of the year in October 2012. Admission was reasonable for adults and children, and snacks were $1. Seating is not reserved; you can grab a table with chairs inside (heated) or on top deck. Kids enjoyed going in and out / up and down on the boat, which is very stable. They... More

beautiful outlook and restaurant over the lake. Nice paddlewheel boat ride - although we couldn't take it - we saw many who did and they loved it. Lake Pepin also had a nice inn right at the restaurant. Was a very relaxing atmosphere.

It was surprising to find such a huge lake in the middle of the Mississippi river. The area is really pretty-lots of bluffs and woods. The traffic on the Minnesota side is very bad even if it is a 4-lane hwy. If you want to see the lake you have to pull off the hwy. No ones slows down on... More

Beautiful part of the River, widest part of Mississippi. Rent a sailboat or take a boat ride down the river on a paddleboat. Dinner cruises. Shop for antiques, have dinner on the river. So pretty. In the fall, there are apple orchards. Close to Treasure Island Cascino, north of Red wing.
