If you are looking for the blues this is the place to find where it's at and who is dealing it! Might as well get some art, books or the great traveling CD all right here! If Roger is in you'll be set. For me I have a problem I can't walk out of Cat head with out a bag... More

Roger, the proprietor, is a generous, dedicated, and competent caretaker of the Mississippi Blues legacy. His store is a gem of a place, filled with art selections sufficient to beautify any home and music selections capable of sanctifying any CD player.

do visit Cathead - Roger promotes all local blues music and is extrememly knowledgable about what is happening in the area and always willing to help visitors get the most out of their visit. he also organises the Juke Joint Festival in April and has two videos about the blues which i would thoroughly recommend - "M for Missisippi "... The shop has a big selection of material, from records and dvds to shirts, photos, local art, prints, used gig posters and the likes. We stopped by twice. On the first time, we actually didn't shop anything. Nevertheless, the owner was very nice and helped us by giving useful information about the music happening that night at the local juke... More

A great starting point for your Blues journey in the Mississippi Delta. A great selection of local art and music. The owner is an invaluable resource for all the current goings on in the area. The community is doing a great job of gentrification in the downtown area. I found the fold art excellent but out of my price range.... More

If you go to Clarksdale, and have ANY interest at all in blues, this is a MUST shop to visit. The Cat Head is the best "Blues" oriented store/shop for folk art, clothes, posters, instruments... etc. that I have ever seen. The couple running it are blues musicians, themselves, and very welcoming. The owner was interviewed by CNN while we... More

There is a great deal of interesting folk art in this store. However, it looks a little bit more like an old worn museum than a store. The place and the things were dusty and looked like they had been there for a long time. I wanted to buy something, but nothing grabbed me.

Any blues fan must stop here while visiting Clarksdale. The place has all sorts music, artwork and books available....including original Cat Head artwork by Leland, MS muscian/artist, Pat Thomas. Roger Stolle, owner of Cat Head, has his finger on the pulse of what's happening in the Delta. Can't wait to visit again!

This is a must for any serious blues fan at the crossroads. The store is full of unusual books, cd's , pictures and artwork of famous and obscure blues musicians. It was a pleasure to chat with the owner and trade stories about bluesology. You may very well learn more there than at the Delta blues museum. We found out... More
