Well maintained and a great interpretation of what life would have been like. The museums are a little pricey though for what they are even with the museum pass.
Beautiful building full of history. So worth going in and learning about the purpose and use of this house.
Nice set up and interesting to view. Enjoyed it more when we did tag along tour - more info. Would have liked more info plaques or something - we did get an a4 guide but I think there is so much more to this location. Fantastic restoration and loved the work being out into upkeep. Overall great job done by... More
We had a brief stroll through the home by ourselves, but had to come back the next day for a guided tour. Interesting example of 19th century home constructed by the British during the days of the penal colony on Norfolk Is, but not a lot of detail offered.
Visited this attraction in August 2013, thoroughly the trip back through time. In some ways they were forward thinking in their ideas.
The views, amenity, atmosphere, locals and their relaxed life style, their history and walking tracks & botanical gardens which are delightful

This would be the best example of a restored house in the area that we were fortunate to visit. You feel that you are stepping into a time zone with the way it has been furnished to create the atmosphere of the era. Take your time it is worth it.
This is one of my favourite, as you get to see how real local people lived since 1850, I especially love their blue and white china collection, what a marvelous collection, you just simply don't see so many beautiful Georgian Blue and White china anywhere else, so that was a treat. Highly recommended if you are in Kingston, pop in.... More
Beautifully restored and presented. Houses like this were built to last. But it still would have been hard as well
